Giro TT Stage 20 [no spoilers]
This is a cool twist. I actually am liking a TT, which I tend to think should be eliminated frankly for safety reasons, yada/whine...
Stage ends on serious MTN Top/uphill. It is too narrow for and cars at all. So support [once the switch bike area from TT to climbing bike] is official Giro MC with a Team Mechanic. Abord with either wheels or shouldering a complete extra bike on back of MC as passenger. ;)
I find this not only way less boring than usual, but interestingly fun also. LOL.
Not to mention it's broken into waves with pauses to get the MCs back down for next wave. Riders, bikes, MC passenger etc. descend in cable car from Peak/top.

Yeah, that was a really interesting TT. Good for the roadside fans as well, going bananas as the riders grovelled by at only 10kph. I liked the comment from one of the riders, who said that it was no worse than a flat TT, as the needed power output was the same.

The TT format was different, to be sure, though I'm somewhat ambivalent about the mandatory bike change before the climb. It added an element of strategy and drama, but it seems a bit risky. If the weather had been rainy like most of the race, it could have been problematic.
It was interesting to see Roglic switch to a 1x setup in two stages of the race. The chain drop he suffered was also telling, as was his composure while quickly recovering from it on a steep grade. If he uses a 1x again, I'll bet he'll have top and bottom chain guides on the bike.
