New Pursuit
This is just the proof of the frame paint, everything else in the below image is just part of the template. Carl says they just started construction so it should be going to paint next week, though that might still take a bit.

As for the latin- VINCIT QUI PATITUR translates, depending on how much you want to adjust grammar, to-

Zipp aero/carbon cockpit
Campy SR EPS drivetrain
Zipp404 Firecrest
Will xfer my Speedplay power mater pedals
Also, based on input from the bike fitter, I'll be moving to 170mm cranks vs 175.

So that post about Shimano when you first pondered the pursuit is out the window then.
How big a tire did you lean towards for this beast/build??
The masher on 170s??? well, OK. ;)
I diddle between 167.5 and 175s. My old hips seems to appreciate the 172.5 overall... Residual ache after rides....
The 167.5s popped up in a deal where I was buying something else. I added them thinking, "gotta try that".
Are you a high or low cadence rider these daze?

Electronic shifting- At this point I'm still ambivalent, honestly. But I also know I'm ignorant because I've never ridden it. It's a bit of a gamble but the VAST consensus from friends, the interwebz., etc, is that even if I don't need it I won't be sorry I have it. And I may possibly love it. In the end, I got over myself and went for it.
I already have to charge my pedals, which I still find hard to believe, can't be that much more of a pain to charge the shifters. Le sigh. ;)
170s- Fit guy says the torque loss will be unnoticeable but should have significant impact on comfort, endurance, and overall power by reducing the extremes of hip/femur angle.
Cadence- My comfort zone is still in the low 70s when I don't think about it. But I'm thinking about it and for any steady state effort I'm trying to maintain +80 and train that into my muscle memory. Also using techniques like "driving the heel", as the bike fitter calls it, which I feel is the same thing I used to call forcing the toe over.
Tires- 28mm, recommended size for the Z404 for best aero advantage.

Additionally, re: electronic shifting, I've not personally talked to anyone with EPS, only Di2 or SRAM, but multiple online reviews and videos say that EPS is the absolute gold standard for elec shift and is better than the other two. So, the same as with cabled groups. :)

We get to the choosing tires part yet, don't recall that dialog yet regarding this bike??
I mounted some Pirelli Tubeless 30s yesterday, with tubes to sit stretch before doing them up tubeless.
Also put some 28mm GP4000S I nave bee hording on some old Zipp 404s to see how proud they sit. Looking at them mounted my first thought was why both with 404s if the tire is so proud of the the rims. They are older narrow rims. Always liked how those rolled, but time to move on and loose them I am thinking...
You seem like a GP5k TLR kinda go fast biker maybe?? ;) I have those on something in 28s, but am to slow to notice if they are fast pretty much..
I had a chance to buy the ES bits to upgrade my EP/Nago. Just to try it VS the Di2 setup I have already. But the Full Ti/Cult Kit on there is perfect, so I chickened out. I have more Di2 than anything else on my 'too many' bikes inventory.
Figured I keep some cabled bikes and not make it all electronic...

Continental Grand Prix S TR 28mm
Selected because I've had nothing but success with various Conti tires and these were on Zipp's recommended list for the specific wheelset.

I had not seen it. But the 28s look pretty good at 94psi. Just .4W off the 25mm tire's best rr rating. Add to that the 28 is the recommended width for the 404s for max aero advantage. Gonna be flyin, yo!

94 Psi on 404 tall carbon going to be harsh I'd think.
But I don't know your current Clyd-dom either..
I run 80/87Psi in 25mm tubulars, and all my 28-30s these days 75/80. If I am going to hit any off pavement with 30s, 65/75 PSi.

Won't be any harsher than the Conti Sprinters, even at an low 120psi, on Bontrager Aeolus ;)
I ended up having to quit keto. I chose performance on the bike vs health :-D
When I did that, about a month ago, I was down to 225 from 280 in Feb. Immediately bounced up 5lbs to 230 and have been there, within a pound or two, every day since. My goal is 205, which is still 10lb heavier than my racing weight of 20yr ago at 195. Some things must be sacrificed to age I suppose.
Working with a nutrition coach so learning to track macros and kcal, something I've never done before.
I will always be a clydesdale in the peloton, no way around that, and I'll never beat the skinny kids up a hill. But give me a flat road and a clear view of the horizon...

Then 94 probably be about right. Maybe 3-4 less front unless you are hard diving into shit.
Make sure you post a painted pic as soon as you get one. ;)

You won’t be sorry getting the Zips. I’ve had Enve, DT, and Zipp. I sold the Enve and DT and went back to where I started with the 404s

Nothing. Per Carl paint can "take a while." I haven't pressed for details/updates because it's out of his hands and I already feel like I'm a high-maintenance customer. ;)

Not sure being featured in Barron’s is a good sign….:)
No comment on whether Rob meets the description of typical customer…:)
I have no doubt they are great bikes, paint is not to my taste ATMO

It seems like a classic example of a clueless writer penning an article for an equally clueless audience. As for the bike in the pic, it shows great painting skill, but it's seriously fugly.
On the bright side, Pursuit is likely to get a few orders out of it.

I did see it. I laughed out loud, and even sent Carl an email on it, because the 'typical customer' was exactly me.
Otherwise it was not a great article that was clearly written by a non-cyclist.
It's not my kind of color scheme, but that's a good looking bike.
I don't really know Barron's and not sure why it would not be a good sign...any clarity on that? Who is TeJ-VG?

Well I was joking (mostly) about Barron’s not being a good sign. It is a Wall Street/ investment magazine whose typical feature might be a panel discussion of hedge fund managers. Although I haven’t read it in many years.

So...Carl had said back in Oct he expected the bike back by mid-Nov. As it is late Dec I sent an inquiry. Turns out the painter had started on my bike but then broke his ankle and has been obviously laid up and not working. He's hopefully getting back to work next week.
