My Lord!

I had a blader along same MUT paved route as me for 9 miles today.

4.5" monster wheels/blades. Probably 42-5 years old guy.

I had to put semi serious watts to drop him. And two crossing ped crossings he caught up before they went green/walk for cross walks. Well white/walk, longish waits granted..

I know I am slower than years ago, but I was big ring higher cadence moving along. Freak!

From what I've seen, competitive roller bladers skate at around the same speeds as competitive cyclists, at least on reasonably flat ground. I don't know how fast then can climb and I'm certain they can't sprint as fast, as they simply don't have the gearing.

Well on a rail grade descent, he was flying. If I did not grade big ring and stand for sprinty accel, he sure woulda went by me.

When this happens it is usually EV embellishment involved. Most the folks have the ones on the MUT are on more pedestrian EV bikes that don't assist past 20 MPH. I've been on group ride with these along, I can still manage going faster than that. I rue the day I cannot... I know it is coming. Would that be Roo the day in OZ? ;)

I like to use them to close a gap to for workout sake, more for vanity sake if I am honest. 1-2 times I could not close the gap to one up the trail. My vanity suspects modded EV devises, My EGO prays for that. ;)
