"the numerals on my watch are just enough bigger that it works."

When I say a "can't see":

I can see a momentary thing well enough, like HRM display, watch if wearing.

Looking at something for more than 3-4 seconds, reading things, be it a package or PC screen... I will get a headache. Faster if smaller, so it is an eye strain thing.

I do have a little magnifying glass on my key chain for super small stuff. Contacts in supermarket when readers in car still. Logistics a real PITA having right shit for right mode on hand. ;)

Progressives could not get used to. Moving my head to read across a line, MEH. But I think they have limits to centering the reading section due to making optical centers on top corrective center a priority.

Done!

I have now had both eyes done (the second this afternoon), and while I'm getting by with drugstore readers at the moment, may end up getting something better.

BUT.

I had no idea how much of the world I was missing. It's a much brighter and more colorful world than I thought it was.

I've been riding with one fixed and one bad eye; I have to stay off for a few days, but as of Monday, I aim to be looking at the world in all its glory.

Thanks

Thanks, Brian.

Interestingly, I have a small amount of astigmatism in my right eye, and even though my left eye's lens is less than 24 hours old, I can already tell that it's slightly better at distance than the right. And while neither is great shakes for near vision, the astigmatic eye is slightly better at that.

Post-op this afternoon; I'll see what the doc has to say!

I just ubered my friend John for his final post lens appt Tuesday. Driving after the eye drops not best idea, after dilation drops.

You can do it, but then no free lunch for me in the deal. .:)

Brightness

When I had mine done I obviously needed a ride home, but the dilated pupils from the tests really didn't bother me. They asked if I had sunglasses, which I did, but I tried it without them and no distress. YMMV.

Yeah, dilation wasn't a big deal. But the world LOOKS so different. Brighter, bigger, more colorful. Maybe the sunglasses are there to limit distractions...
