Winter clincher tire report.
I was using some Pasela folding TGs for winter and find the high center a stability issue. Habitually I just toss the bike over when diving into a turn. The Pasela center transition to lean is a bit wonky, until I wear that down I guess.
So I got some "Ritchey WCS Alpine JB 700 x 30 Clincher Folding Black/Tan 120tpi" to try.
First thing positive was a nice easy hand mounting.
A touch smaller measured [forget what each is claimed/sized at] than the Panaracer, and lighter.
So after a few rides I like this tire. I got a few blasts off the paved MUT onto the gravely track off the edges due to clogging of inconsiderate folks using up the entire paved width going one direction. ;) It's only 14' wide after all.
Tire does the hardpack with loose small gravel like a champ, even @ initial high psi I tried, 80-85psi.
Probably settle into to 70-75 psi most. VG good for the super coarse old chipseal, best here.
Anyway, recommend. I got them on the Domane, the 30mm is true to size pretty much. [so far] With the boast of the strong casing I don't expect the swell. Will update if I am wrong there...
Also comes in black and in 35mm Tubeless ready [and a wire bead comp]. I am using latex tubed in the non tubeless folding tire.
