By the way, after receiving the Combativity prize, Alaphilippe went and had a heartfelt hug and conversation with a heavyset gentleman in a wheelchair. Has anyone mentioned who that was?

We kinda assumed Grandfather most likely. It was quite touching, the Old man in the wheelchair was overwhelmed with pride/tears! Elaine and I are both like, "Aww..."

One of my cycling friends was unwise enough to say, after the first week of the Tour when Ewan had had a string of seconds and thirds, that he didn't think that Ewan had what it took to win a top level sprint.

I'll have to remind him of that prophecy the next time we go riding together...none of the other sprinters won more than a single stage.
