He's had a history of making really bad decisions and apparently has never grown up. It seems like it's just a matter of time until he ends up in prison or dead..

Obsessive behaviors run rampant in endurance sports. I suspect he is dealing with many more demons than we will ever know.

I am sure he is not mentally healthy.

Marco comes to mind also.
