Sparky, I fly into Portland tomorrow (7/8) for a week, to help my stepson and family pack for a move to Massachusetts. I thought I'd get some relief from the East Coast heat wave, but no: Portland temps in the 90s just about all week. Where is the NW rainforest climate when I need it?

Just bad timing weather wise I guess. It kind of bounces. After 5 days of 90ish, it may be mid 70 for a few days, rinse, repeat.

Pop me an email with your cell if you think a meet up can fit in your time here? Will you have access to a bike?

BTW, trip was partially cycling fodder thread wise. We trekked into the Hood Natural Forrest, and rode a Dalles River Path on the Coulmbia.

Dug out the old school steel MTBs. Me on the old StumpJumper I pulled off a deepest recesses of bike hanger corner of the shop. And Elaine, a 90s GT Karakorum, our steel is real picks. ;)

The GT has the original steel fork and LX group. The Spesh, 8 speed XT Rapid fire and a SID up front. It was fun to ride these, good choices for the purpose.

Spesh after washing. [GT already put away, so no pic]
