An impressive set of numbers
We flew across the continent to Perth yesterday, and went for an ~40km ride around the Swan River today. At the end of the ride, just as my wife was about to press the button to end her Garmin's recording of the ride, she called me over and showed me the screen:
I told her she should upload the ride details to Strava:-) Strange thing was that when she uploaded the ride to Garmin Connect, the map just showed the expected 40km route around the river, though the ride distance was still shown as 3034km:

Yeah but the max speed is not impressive. ;-)
That, plus, max speed, by definition, cannot be less than the average speed - and significantly less at that!

Rotation speed
Probably measuring the rotation speed of the earth, which is over 1,000 mph at the equator.
