Cobbled a truck to carry a ton.

My Strong really is too light for being too loaded. Just me being on it is bad enough... ;)

So I traded some wares for this Soma Saga light use, Frame/fork. Headset, BB, Fenders, Stem, bars. equiv of about 240.00.

Stuck on some NOS 6600 STIs with triple left, NOS XT 180mm cranks [got with no rings] FSA 24/36/50 rings outta parts bin.

Will be putting bar cons, but none loose at the moment.

Parts bin bikes are the best.

I agree. My most ridden bike by far (90+%) is my 10 yr old parts bin bike.

"Parts bin bikes are the best."

That happens to me with guitar builds as well. Cheap scored body, free necks, toss in pulled pickups from an upgrade. It usually spawns a player when I do that. A lot less time that a scratch build with all new parts and paint etc etc.

Starting tomorrow, we are looking at mid 60s for 3-4 days.

So I am going to test truck this beast. Going to load it to 65lb, and do a fav 50 miler.

It was 28 lb before I put on the 3 lbs of rack/redBag&front frame. I don't think I ever weighed the Ortlieb panniers. Compared to what you put in them, moot perhaps.

I have that blue handlebar bag [on table] I will put on when the Bar Cons go on. STI cables in the way on the ST-6600 shifters. I once used V-brake noodles to 90^ turn the cables coming out of the STI to use this bag, but it was better in concept than implementation I have to confess. Would need like stupid wide bars for it to work I learned. ;)
