Latex Tubes update

I had commented the GP4KS seemingly not netting ride improvement like the other tires i tried the tubes with initially.

I did put the wheels with the 23/25 GP4Ks with latex tubes on the Steel 753 bike and for some reason the feel seems more improved on this bike. I suspect it may be just a dual frequency muting the steel and the tire/tube combo just happens to cover/have. All I know is it makes that steel frame even more muted as to road vibration. Even more so than the wheels/tires on the first few rides. Which where 25/27 tires with butyl.

Not sure when I will get around to the 320TPI Paves as far as trying the latex tube in.

Another interesting latex/sealant observation.

On one setup I noticed some sealant on the sidewall of the tire. Cleaned it off thinking it was a valve spatter during a pump up. But no, it seems sealant was coming through the sidewall of a GP4K. The rear, but not the front. A 23/25 tire combo with the bigger latex tube at the rear. Not localized, but rather all around FWIW. No puncture*, and I have noticed both are loosing way less air from resting/non use than initially. Especially the rear that has the bigger tube is holding air longer.

Conclusions being.. what? ;)

* that I am aware of, not having broke it down in truth to be clear.

I have yet to hear of sealant permeating an intact inner tube, but the part about losing air more slowly using a bigger tube just makes sense, and the same applies if the larger tube were punctured.
