TDF Prediction Pool

Let's spice things up.

More for bragging rights than anything.

If somebody has a strong notion about an upcoming stage this is the place to throw down.

Readers sensitive to spoilers beware!

I bet my bragging rights Sagan / Tinkoff-Saxo will throw everything into a win/yellow jersey on Saturday's stage 8.

AND THEY WILL SUCCEED!

Bert is gonna win. Unless he crashes and breaks a leg, then races 10k uphill.

Dude got major props from me after that stunt. I kind like him now.

TJVG will fade on the first major climb and finish in the top 10.

I'll go for Froome, but I will probably root for Contador.

TVdG will end up 5th again, but with a bit more competition this year that ain't too bad.

Talansky top 10- I think Garmin used up all of it's luck back when Ryder won the Giro. They seem to keep missing splits and losing time. The TTT will be interesting to see if they can keep it together this year.

Green Jersey- Sagan, he may not win a stage but he's so consistently in the points (and can make it over the hillier stages) that he will eventually pass Greipel

Polka Dot- I would love to see Teklehaimanot hold the jersey for as long as possible, but I think he will lose it once the big mountains come. Then it will probably be Rodriquez or one of the non-GC climber types that will go for it.

White Jersey- Have a hard time seeing this going to anyone other that Quintana.

No more than 174 riders will finish the race in Paris.

Prediction: Last stage will be boring, there will be a bunch of long/boring flat stages in between.

I haven't been watching the Tour at all this year, just reading the daily stage reports. I'll watch it in the dead of winter while putting in 2x20s on the trainer. I look forward to the Vuelta though.

July is just too busy to be watching TV, with work, kids, vacation, and prime riding/running weather.

So far the last thing this tour has been is boring.

Also I thought that this thread was supposed to be about individual stages, along those lines my pic for tomorrow is Sagen.

I'll go with Hannah and her horse for the "white" jersey, then sticking with pre-race picks of Froome, AC, Nibali for GC and for the green jersey, Mr Everything, Peter 007 Sagan.

Not a prediction but

I'd sure like to see Quintana take it all back tomorrow.

Okay, I predict the big 4 will all settle into the top 8 after finishing within 15 seconds of each other, even Nibali.

Tiger Slam, Serena Slam, Alberto Slam too?

Merckx and Hinault held all three GT jerseys at once in their careers. Eddy even had two Giros to bookend his Tour/Vuelta wins; in the era of the springtime Vuelta of course.

Who wants to predict how long it will take the press to figure out Contador has the makings of an 'Alberto Slam' lined up?

BTW: Go Serena! And best wishes Tiger this week.
