Mad Men series finale?

I try to avoid series TV but when my mom died in 2010 she left behind an unopened DVD box set of the first few seasons of Mad Men. The case was sheet metal in the form of a Zippo lighter. Considering she was 28 in 1960, the series was about her generation. And I'll bet being married to an insurance adjuster in Raleigh NC was just like being married to an ad man in Manhattan, cough cough.

So I started the binge watching trend so prevalent today.

And I am glad the series Mad Men has closed.

That said, they did a darn good job with the final episode, particularly the last two minutes.

Anyone else watch it here?

I grew up with that commercial

I thought, as some have said, that things were wrapped up a little too neatly, but I did like the final minutes. I remember the later part of the decade way better than the early part, but it's been interesting to watch.

One of my memories from that period is the death of a friend's mother from lung cancer c. 1969, so that part was particularly touching for me.

One of the striking things about the final show for me was the notion of seeing people "as they are." We got to see both Joan and Betty without their makeup, and Don, when he was on the phone, actually looked like a man his age, rather than like a man trying to stay ten years younger.
