SMS msg, where in the phone are they stored?
I'm about to change phone. The last time I did that, I lost all the SMS messages. They didn't come over to the new phone with the SD card like photos and such. But they're also not in the network server like contact list either.
I know there're apps to save them & move them. But it seems more complicated than it need be. It's just some files, right? If it's not on the SD card, can I make a copy of it on the SD card?

it'll be easier to migrate with an app
unless you just want the raw txts with raw tel#s.

Doesn't sound like an iPhone.
On the iPhone txts are stored in a mysql style editable database.

If it's Android there are several (free) apps in the Google play store specifically for backing up and restoring SMS. Can't recommend one as I haven't used any of them - all I do with the SMS on my phone is cull them regularly.
