Even 10 years earlier, while chastised by many, I was not surprised by this practical, real-life game theory example of the prisoner's dilemma.......

Historical perspective

Reading a cycling book I got for Christmas, I came across this quote from Henri Pelissier, who won the Tour in 1923. The riders had:

"cocaine to go in our eyes, chloroform for our gums, and do you want to see the pills? We keep going on dynamite. In the evenings we dance around our rooms instead of sleepng."

Interesting. History repeats. I also read in the early days of EPO usage, cyclists would purposefully wake up, several times, in the middle of the night to get up an walk around to prevent blood clots.
