Thank you Specialized

Sent gratis, comes with clamps for round and square rail saddles.
I did not realize it was S-Works.

Report later after a ride w/functionality report.

I am going to just have to put/fit some shark teeth decal/graphic on that silly looking profile. ;)

EDIT
===============
Quick sub division ride report:

Some nasty pavement in the old section. Huge section of squares of pavement and all cracked up.
Good test for worse than chipseal surfaces.

And aimed at some 4-5" chuck holes too. 90lb air 27mm Paves.

I should Mention the removed post is a Pave, the previous best Spesh zertz carbon post.
I only rode the orig carbon post on one short ride with the original seat which was sticky, MEH.

Also new seat open all the way to the back that is supposed to allow rolling out of the back and ride better. I did not notice that on a normal post though.

Broken road; somewhat noticeable improvement akin to lower pressure in tires, maybe a bit more than that...

Chuck holes: Major improvement.

Overall the front of the bike feels harsher and more stiff. Shows the back end is buffered more. But nothing like the difference on the Domane fr/rear diff. [deal breaker for me]

Maybe a good comparison might be riding with 60-70 lb of air in the back with a 30-32mm tire without the mush/squirm and/or pinch risk.

quick 3-0 miler. more of the same. You get used to it and it disappears under you. No sense of movement at all. Even high RPM no induced bounce, other than the normal orbit I go into around 120+

I'd like to try one but they cost about half a power meter if Specialized doesn't send you one for nuthin.

I been seeing them for a while. Had not even thought of buying one.

I am going to throw some 23s on the bike and do a few hour jaunt and see what I see.

Just call them and tell them your hi-nee hurts. ;)

setback

one came on my S-Works Roubaix but couldn't use it as it gave too much setback. Can't remember the numbers but it was more than I could use. (I ride a fairly small frame and have short legs)

Well any nice lugged frame is sweet to me. :0

25mm setback is what the spec is on the CG-R. I have the seat slide 4-5mm more forward than the 22mm set back on the Pave I took off. So I kind think 25mm is conservative. Maybe 27mm in function somehow.

The pave was on the 05 Roubaix. Geom is so consistent across the years of the Roubaix it was plug and play moving the pave post with saddle of the old bike. Needless to say it was simple to dial in the position on the 9 year newer bike. ;)

I want to get it out at night and see the front rotor glow, I have to admit that...

Now as to a $200.00 seat post. I expect a lot for my money spent, term that what you will. I am not sure I would feel as though this is worth 200.00, even given the extent of squelch to the lack of vertical perceived compliance of the SL4.

It looks like it belongs on there, and it does have the desired effect without side effects so far.
