2014 Addict Ultra Limited frameset.

The Addict Ultra Limited frameset is available now for RRP $9,999.

Building on the legendary Addict, the Addict Ultra Limited makes the lightest even lighter (with a world record effective mass[*] of 599.9 grams for 54cm) while maintaining optimal stiffness.

[*] paint, hardware, and head-tube omitted.

Head tube omitted? What does that even mean? ;)

Make one wonder when they may stop trying to make them lighter. Or make them so light you have ballast options. Yada. ;)

Effective Mass

I have an "effective mass" of 0. I weigh 193 (as of an hour ago) but none of it is effective.

This reminds me of a project in a bicycling mag years ago (not sure if it was Bicycling or Bicycle Guide or whatever), to configure the lightest mountain bike. It used a 6 speed Campy alloy freewheel. As soon as they rode it through some water in the woods it froze up. I said "I can design a bike made out of air that would weigh nothing, and be just as useful."

I wonder what they pay for that frame. A few hundred?

I paid $550.00 for the 2009 Flagship Addict LTD frame set last year. It was $7k new MSRP for the frameset.
Heluva resale value. ;)

I do like it I have to say. Lighter than it needs to be by a lot, but ride and climbs very well. Not that that really matters for me with the riding I do these days, but I can say the attributes are noticeable.

Thinking about getting a custom paint job on it after seeing the Sylvain Chavanel TDF Scott, maybe 11 speed for my new bike next season.
