Saddles, lesson learned. narrow vs wide

I was getting a backache on my Roubaix. I thought it was the saddle raising I been doing a bit at a time now that the femoral nerve is way along it's way. Back to normal, although I still can't feel a big spot on my thigh.

It turns out it was the too narrow saddle. I guess it was putting outward pressure on the pelvis 1/2s from not sitting on it with the site bone as much as the inside of the 1/2s against it to a degree. That spreading apparently my tail bone did not like.

saddle dynamics

Seems to me you can sit on the back of the saddle (which is designed to be sat on) and support your weight with your sit bones (which are designed to support your weight) or sit on a narrow tube and support your weight with "soft tissue." Doesn't seem like an awfully difficult choice to me.

Well, maybe I should have said in the spots which felt like that where you'd sit on this particular saddle. Actually the are both CyclePro Ti Saddles [remember those] just different models..

Pelvic width varies...

...which is why there are different width saddles. I like the concept that Specialized uses with the device you sit on to obtain the distance between your "sitz bones". The results are consistent with my experience.
