Would love to, but a new indoor track & field facility opened here in Indy and I'm helping to manage the meets they are hosting...so I'll be tied up that weekend. Bummer!

I was impressed by the crowds. I thought it might end up being fairly anemic but they looked pretty respectable by the standards of any race outside of Belgium.

Crowd Size

Great event. Had a blast watching with my son.

Saturday night I was chatting with the individual in charge of the course crossing volunteers. The estimate he had heard was 15,000. I think they exceeded their expectations because when I went to use a port a pot at 2:00pm it was approaching capacity.

I just hope that the racers have access to reserved porta-johns, and not have to compete with perhaps thousands of drunks!

No Masters class at the World's?

Is there and good race coverage broadcast yet to air?

Dddd- check the uci channel on youtube. They did live streaming the day of the race, and I would think they probably would have it saved.

Masters happened on Thursday and Friday before the main races happened on Saturday.

Yep all of the races are available on UCI's youtube channel, very high quality broadcasts.

And Marianne Voss, wow what can you say, it's cool to see history in the making.
She will most likely go down as the greatest cyclist of all time.

Great race, thanks for that!

I found myself not only rooting for the 3rd place Van Der Haar (sp?), but repeatedly forgetting this race was not in Europe.

Not that our local two CX series don't have a good crowd, but dreaming of racing at a venue like this one.
Racing in the UCI mtb series was intense, but a distant second to this crowd, at least as far as I can remember from in the saddle at full bore, 15 years ago.
