Patience, Grasshopper!

On a ride today, I met a cyclist on a Richard Sachs bike. He told me that he had put down his deposit about 10 years ago, and had just gotten the bike in March, after a nine-year wait!

One certainly learns to be patient!

I never asked Dan [Emery] how long it was. I do recall him saying he got the eMail that his queue position was upon him, and had long forgot about it. ;)

Sachs Machine

My wait was about 7 years, maybe 8. I never forgot about it, but I wasn’t expecting anything in particular and then I got an email the frame was nearly built and to clarify the paint I wanted. I jokingly told Richard I needed time to arrange financing, and he took it seriously and said no problem, I could pay whenever I was able. He said he had never been stiffed.
