UCI Worlds [no spoilers] Team Time Trial Mixed Relay...

The 2019 UCI Road World Championships in Yorkshire will make history being the first World Championships to host the brand-new event, Team Time Trial Mixed Relay. The mixed relay will replace the Team Time Trial after it was introduced for UCI trade teams in 2012. The TTT Mixed Relay will be the same as all other championship disciplines, with riders competing as nations for the coveted Rainbow Jersey. But what is a Team Time Trial Mixed Relay?

The UCI channel on Youtube has full coverage with good commentary. I found the event rather more interesting than I expected it to be.

I wondered what this was when I saw the TV listing. It's an interesting concept, so I guess I'll have to watch the replay on NBC Sports.

Wonder where the winners will wear the Jerseys in competition for the year following?

I dont think that they will wear a jersey, just like the event it replaced, the trade team TT didn't get a jersey (I dont think)

I just watched the highlights and it was a pretty interesting event. I suspect that it's going to be around for years to come.

I was watching the mens junior TT and one of the Italian riders had his crank break as he accelerated away from the start line. The two crankarms were no longer in line, but it wasn't clear from the TV coverage if it was the axle or crankarm that failed. I've seen several failed Shimano cranks where the two halves of the hollow crankarm separate, as in the photo below, but this looked like something different.
