Check the BB drop/height carefully. I'm pretty sure for a while Waterford cross bikes had a somewhat high BB. Its probably a great bike.

I'll have my implements of measurement on hand, to be sure.

It is lite touring and not CX, see the braze ons? So my hopes are 75mm BB drop and the CS length is evident as is road and not CX gearing. [I am hoping]

Well test rode it, on consignment @ a hipster bike shop here. Very long WB! I asked the guy to pump up the tire which were 32s. I asked for 85lb, he scoffed and I noticed he ignored me and put in 65, Asshole, I know that trick.

Anyway, a lot more paint wear than the pic shows. Still have to think on it.

Aesthetically, that stem looks rather out of place. A -17 degree quill stem would be more in keeping with the rest of the bike

Actually only had to drop saddle 1/2" and I had them slam that stem for the test ride. Bars still too high, so -17 would be perfect probably, and would sure make the bike look just right, totally agree.

It had the worst front brake chatter I have ever seen. How it was tolerated is beyond me without simple intervention. At least move the cable stop the the fork crown.

I would not consider a canti fork that does not have the crown drilled so you can put the stop there.

It's drilled. If I do get it it will get my SR and some good min V brakes.

This is interesting, albeit tig not lugged and not Waterford. ;)

Wet paint with clear power coat over, seems like a good durable idea, no?

I emailed blackmountain and 'Mike Varley' replied. The geom for the frames was missing WB, so that is what I asked. The 60 is 104CM, the 58 is 102.5CM.

I asked frame weight for the 60CM and he replied 4.25 lb. I replied with a question; "I guess the stays are butted too", he replied, "yes". The uncut fork is 950 grams.

I tried mini V's with campy levers twice and took them off immediately twice. I didn't think there was enought cable pull to allow pad clearance at the rim and the modulation was wrong. It seemed like I needed a travel agent, even with mini V's and went back to canti's.

The ones I tried were TRP 8.4's and Pauls mini motos. YMMV

I think if you go longer than 8CM arms that is to be expected. Now the new pull Shimano may do the 84mm.

I have the 8CM Teltro that work well with early pull Shimano, not tried them with 5800/6800 pull yet.

But, the cross cable sits pretty low. In my case with a 42C Speedride [file center tire] it is fine, but you raise an eyebrow looking at it. ;)

Bigger or non smooth even slight knobs I think would be not such a good idea. The Speedride have about 7mm clearance to the hardware that you put the noodle in.
But the Modulation and Pull/performance if very good. And with Dura pad carriers, and Salmon pads, VG indeed.

When I used 84mm with earlier pull Shimano I had to use the pulleys.
