Stephen Roche: "The Tour de France Champion"

I haven't watched this yet. Posted June 22, 2017. I figured I'd link it before I listen since they're usually high quality. The time line scroll looks like talking heads, no visuals, so I will rip the audio into a podcast for the drive home.

FYI, nice account of his '87 masterpiece

For those of us who were not following bicycle racing in 1987, Stephen Roche of Ireland won the Giro, the Tour and the Worlds that year. Those were three Irish firsts and only he and Eddy Merckx achieved that triple crown.

I finally listened to the link. It was recorded just before this year's Giro. He recounts what led him to racing, the stories of the victories, unique personal anecdotes of the victories and some thoughts on the history of cycling from his racing days until today.

I didn't watch it, per se, and I don't think there were any graphics, just talking heads, so if you can stream and listen like a podcast it's a nice diversion.
