Stormy Sundays

Weather has not been friendly lately. Sunday is the day I normally take a decent road ride, the last 2 have been complete washouts. So my big ride of the week has been one of Smelly's ErgVideos - today beaten into submission on the Stelvio.

Got an email this am from the Central Vemont Cycling Tour, a nice dirt road event I did a few years ago - cancelled due to rain. That is a drag. Hope things dry out by D2R2 in August.

We've had an unusually wet time here lately also. It seems everyday has a high percentage change of rain and we get multiple showers/storms everyday. I just read the forecast for the 4th weekend and its all rain.

What storm?

All of April and May, plus much of early June, the weather was fantastic. Perfect riding weather.

How did I know? I rode every weekend in April. And in late May and early June, I was out of action (not just no riding, but not feeling like doing ANYTHING). So every weekend, I would look out the window at the perfect weather and wish I could get out and do something!

Yes, last weekend and this weekend had been a bit wet. I don't feel quite so bad because the weather was fine for most other outdoor activities. I can even run! (I hiked instead, in a light drizzle)

This has been a super wet June here in the northeast, no doubt about that, every weekend in June had some rain, today I did a 4.5 hour slog in the rain, it wasn't all that fun but there is no way that I am getting on the trainer in June.
