Delivery
quote:
What is the ETA on the frame, and what fork will you be using?
Frame likely will show up late October. They didn't have one in stock so it had to get into the production queue. Getting the Lynskey fork - probably the same as the Enve. Lynskey wouldn't comment about who makes the fork except to say that "they're all made within a one square mile manufacturing area in Taiwan." In fact it might be an Enve (looks the same).
BTW the Performance shipment arrived today. So I ordered from Merlin last Thursday morning and the package arrived Monday, and I ordered from Performance Thursday evening and the package arrived Tuesday.

I would have thought the sale frames were current inventory ??
Are you getting excited at the prospect of wrenching it into existence?

From stock
I thought the sale stuff was from existing inventory as well, but things just worked out. Maybe they are willing to do something extra for their top line frame.
I do a complete bike teardown every winter on both our bikes so I get that feeling of "building a new bike" every year. It's sort of like blue-printing an engine. But I do look forward to learning about Hirth joints, PF30 BBs, 11s, skeleton brakes, etc.

Arrival date
I expect the frame/fork by the end of October. No rush for me since I'll be more than busy unpacking moving boxes and setting up my shop, and by the end of October riding is pretty much done here. I'll probably get it out on the road on that one nice day the first week of November.

Progress
Waiting for some bits and pieces (forgot to order the seat tube braze-on FD clamp) and the wheel parts. Everything else is on the bike and I need to get a 11s chain quick link (per my other post). Zero degree stem w/no spacers under the stem leaves my bars 5mm higher than on my current bike so I'm not going to worry about that. Casing is cut, cables installed, and bars will be wrapped as soon as I mount the FD.
I'll build the wheels on Tuesday and if weather permits and I can get a chain link locally should be able to ride it on Wednesday.
I'm weighing all the parts and will report the weight when it's all done.
