Riding Together

Most of my riding these days is alone; commuting, etc. Yesterday, I needed to attend an early meeting at my church, so I decided to ride (there's a fair amount of climbing involved, so I stuff a tie in my bag and didn't wear it :-)).

The nice part? About three miles into the ride, I came across a friend from the local mediation center. We'd been talking about riding together for the past couple of years, but could never find a time that matched up. So we rode. We didn't "train," we didn't "race," it wasn't a "group ride," it was just two friends pedaling along.

There's something to be said for that.

yes

And I'm sure you were able to effectively mediate any disputes such as wheelsucking, overlap, half-wheeling, standing on hills, not signaling potholes, etc. :)

An exchange of promises...

We made an oral contract to ride side-by-side and chat.

First world problem! ;)

Some of us NEVER "train", never mind "race". Even many of our "group ride", it was just a few friends riding together.

For those of us who mostly just "ride together", it's also nice when the speed match so we cruise along and the distance disappear so fast we didn't want the ride to end!

I like to mix it up a little. Sometimes riding alone, other times with friends or even "groups"! (but never "train" or "race")
