80 years on the bike

Not a bad bit of video. A rider from just down the road at Wagga who's still putting the miles in at 86.

My father rode until about the age of 90, but then his bike was stolen. He rings me up every few months to ask advice about buying another one, but usually finishes the conversation by laughing and saying "I feel it's rather presumptuous to be buying a new bike at my age" (he's about to turn 93).

That ole guy rocks!

I love that he enjoys watching the races and has a competitive spirit still.

His sibling brothers all passed at <59. That telling in itself.

Your pop is a hoot! Get him a bike already.

teammate

My teammate Carl Grove (86) still rides north of 30 mph and can hang in most masters events and even attack and ride the front from time to time. I the last 2 years he has set 3 world records.

He isn't alone, we have a bunch of guys over 50 who still can place occasionally in 1/2 races.
