My impression was that the seatstay and detail welds looked too industrial for a Litespeed-built frame, not visible in the photo though.
At least with the painted frame, this early carbon fork actually looks ...good, matching the head and downtube proportions nicely.
For this vintage of bike to have been equipped with a carbon fork, must have been pretty expensive.
I will ride it tonight after measuring it up, replacing the stripped allen head socket seat binder and adjusting the adjustable stem.
Oh, but the shifters are gummed solid, at least at the current temperature.
Also, I think that I recall the competing buyer told me that there were different versions, possibly different builders, of CK (no, not Chris King) frames, and that he thought this one was one of the ones that didn't suffer failures. From his research, anyway. I told him that with the mileage and no cracks yet, it must be one of the good ones ;-)
